📋 About This Mod
Just a simple user.cfg file containing lines that affect the game's targeting system. These values have been set to the same as they are in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
I liked the targeting in the sequel and think WarHorse did a fantastic job making it feel much better than in this first game. This mod should bring that feeling from the second game into this one, ensuring combat against multiple opponents doesn't require you fighting the game more than the enemies.
All I did was go through each line of More Responsive Targeting and entered them (without the value set by the mod) in the console of KCD2. This returned the value that KCD2 used for each of these settings, and I then copied them over to an empty user.cfg file.
Installation:
Option 1: Copy the contents of this user.cfg file into your already existing user.cfg file. Do this if you have other mods adding lines to this file, because if you decide to go with Option 2, it will get rid of all of those.
Option 2: Place the user.cfg from this mod in the game's root directory ("steamapps\common\kingdomcomedeliverance", or wherever you
have it installed). It should be in the same folder as the "Data" folder, NOT in the "Mods" Folder.

This mod ports the targeting values from Kingdom Come: Deliverance II into the first game via a user.cfg file, aiming to improve combat against multiple opponents. It's a simple config tweak based on the settings from 'More Responsive Targeting', with values extracted from KCD2's console. For players who prefer the sequel's targeting feel.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Brings the improved targeting feel from KCD2 to the original game, which many players appreciate
- Simple config file—no script extender or heavy dependencies needed
- Decent community traction with 102 endorsements and over 6k downloads
⚠️ Cons
- Only adjusts targeting values—doesn't add new features or fix other combat issues
- Requires manual installation and may conflict with other mods that modify user.cfg if not merged carefully
- Last updated in August 2025—may not be compatible with future game patches
For Kingdom Come: Deliverance players who found the original targeting clunky and want the smoother feel of the sequel. Also for those who use 'More Responsive Targeting' but want the exact KCD2 values. Skip if you're happy with the default targeting or want a more comprehensive combat overhaul.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you already have a user.cfg file from other mods, use Option 1 to merge the lines manually to avoid overwriting your existing settings.
- Place the user.cfg in the game's root directory (where the Data folder is), not in the Mods folder—otherwise it won't be read.
- After installing, test combat against multiple enemies to feel the difference; you can tweak the values further if needed.
