No Letterbox 21x9 fix

Description

Fixes the forced black subtitle background in cutscenes for 21:9 ultrawide screens — without moving subtitles. The subtitle background now respects the in-game "Contrast subtitles" setting. Subtitle position is identical to vanilla. Based on Caites' noletterbox. I have tried to message to Caites, but by some reason he can't get messages.

Installation instructions

Copy the

noletterboxfolder into your KCD2

Mods/directory:

KingdomComeDeliverance2/Mods/noletterbox/Then toggle the background via Settings → Gameplay → Subtitles → Contrast subtitles.

Main features

• []Removes the force-override that ignored the "Contrast subtitles" setting on 21:9 screens[/]

[]Subtitles stay in their original vanilla position (not moved)[/]

[]Works with the in-game toggle — no need to reinstall to switch background on/off[/]

Requirements

No additional mods or tools required. Based on Caites' noletterbox — that mod is NOT required as a file dependency, but full credit goes to Caites for the original work.

The one thing you have to do — is to disable Contrast Subtitles setting in game menu.

Shout outs Caites — for the original noletterbox mod and for keeping all assets open for the community.

Shout outs

I want to say very big thanks to Caites modder on Nexus! I have used Claude Code for this task. In fact the whole work is done by AI.
