📋 About This Mod
Converts almost half of miscellaneous items into usable items with unique mechanics and effects not present in the original game. (Now adds compatibility with cooking mod) (Skulls can now be found in some corpses and merchants in Trosky
Description
This is a relatively ambitious attempt at de cluttering our menus of the wretched useless misc items into something we can actually use, and with mechanisms and effects that are unique. For instance, rosaries and crosses are now wearable items. They typically (with exceptions) don't grant as much charisma as jewellery but they give the player a reputation bonus modifier, which means every time you commit a good act and gain reputation, you gain even more.
It goes beyond that, instead of wearable accessory items all being a +charisma ring/necklace, the effects for items can have direct impacts on stats beyond this. Using the rosaries/crosses example, some will be able to increase your impression stat separately. This is a stat implicated in how trustworthy and likeable people see you as. Whereas items like skulls can be equipped and specifically increase intimidation and dread, without necessarily impacting charisma.
Found a come? Nice, try using it. It will give you a weaker version of the barber haircut buff but can only be used once or twice per in game day. Found some hairpins? Feel free to wear them, but you won't look very intimidating. Likeable perhaps.
Some misc daggers and pouches have been converted for use in stealth kills or to store items. Even a reliquary can be used as a pouch.
Salt (which was actually a misc item) is now required in order to smoke or dry meat. In addition to that, you can use it to cook meat to increase their nourishing effects and make the meat last longer.
I won't go into detail with all the changes because that's for you to find. This mod converts almost half of misc items and I consider this mod to be just an appetizer for part 2. I've discovered so many potential ways to make use of misc items that the second and final version will bring comprehensive changes to alchemy, crafting, survival and more (will likely branch out into more comprehensive overhauls). In fact, some items may even have a random cutscene pop up out of nowhere when certain criteria are met.
The intention is the keep items true to their vanilla names and descriptions excluding the added buff descriptions. That having been said, I don't think anyone can guess how much alchemy, crafting and many liquid foods/drinks will change in the final version.
Not all stat buffs are able to shown in the menu, so some will have buff icons, added descriptions ect, in order to compensate. So if you think an item is inferior just because it says less charisma, think again. There are some misc items like animal fangs/horn/ear/antler that are still in the misc slot for now and will likely be converted for the second part. Their values have now increased by 2 times to incentivize kil
