Hire Your Own Army

KCD2 is at its core a game about a warband. Zizka's men, first the mercenaries at Nebakov, later the Devil's Band, wrecking Sigismund's war behind his own lines. And Henry? Henry is left running errands for them. He never commands anything.

This mod fixes that. Hire up to 50 men, march them across Bohemia, and set up a war camp anywhere on the map. Feed them, pay them, keep their morale up or watch them desert. Build the camp into a fortress with palisades, archer towers and hussite war wagons. Then go looking for a fight: bandit camps, raids on your own camp, Sigismund's patrols, and a fully voiced side quest that ends in a siege.

This mod is finished. No roadmap, no coming soon, everything described below is in the game.

Getting Started

• []Hire men. Walk up to any innkeeper and ask to hire. Pick a tier and a quantity. They'll follow you, protect you and fight alongside you.[/]

  []Set up camp. Look at your men and hold E. The same button breaks it down again. Your own tent has a bed in it, so you can sleep and save in the field.[/]

  []Talk to the quartermaster. He stands in your tent and everything runs through him: hiring, supplies, camp improvements, gates, and the encounter difficulty.[/]

  []Feed them. Hand the quartermaster food, or groschen so he can buy it himself, or take supplies off the enemies you kill. Your HUD tells you when food, drink or wages run low.[/]

  []Tell them to wait. Press V while looking at them before you enter a building or start a stealth mission. They get in the way indoors.[/]

  Installation

  Navigate to your KCD2 installation folder, by default C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance2. Open or create a folder called Mods inside it, download the mod and extract it there. Launch the game.

  If you have the Steam Workshop version installed, disable it first to avoid conflicts.

  The Company

  Hiring and Tiers: Regular mercenaries come in three categories, each better and more expensive than the last. Weak (your basic cannonfoder), Medium (good distraction while you do the heavy lifting) and Strong (for hard fights and to serve as your bodyguards).

  Equipment: Command them to equip a preset: Basic Mercenary (no faction emblem), Bandit, Cuman, Skalitz/Leipa, Kuttenberg, Teutons, Crusaders, Rithard, Bergow, Semine and more.
