📋 About This Mod
Makes Hardcore Mode less annoying by changing perks involving sleepwalking, bad back, and the additional shoe wear.
*If anyone has requests or suggestions on modifying the Hardcore perks fuether, let further, id be willing to look into it.
I love hardcore mode and believe it is the best way of playing the game. However, there are certain features, while great on paper, become super annoying very quickly. Rather than increasing immersion like most of the hardcore features, some things become annoying and tedious. Introducing: Less Annoying Hardcore Mode
Why not just skip these perks to begin with? - Because I like the other stat changes that come with them, just not the annoying bits. i.e. I like my carry capacity being lower (Bad Back Perk), I just dont like the continual limit to sprinting when picking up herbs, as it doesnt make the game more challenging, just more annoying (to me at least). etc.
Changes to Perks Include:
1) New - Bad Back: Due to your bad back, your carrying capacity is 50% lower
Removed: Whenever you bend to pick up a herb or mushroom, there's a small chance you'll strain your back and be left hobbling for a while (i.e. cannot sprint)
Reasoning: If you are picking up a ton of herbs, you may trigger this 1/4 times, which becomes super annoying not being able to sprint to the next batch of herbs. Picking herbs already takes long enough.
2) New - Heavy Footed: Your heavy steps cause your starting Noise level to be increased form 0 to 25.
Removed: Your shoes wear down twice as fast, so you'll have to repair them frequently.
Reasoning: I timed the wear rate of a brand new 100% health pair of shoes. After 1min of walking, shoes lost 20% of their health, which is crazy fast!
3) New - Somnambulant: You lose restedness 40% faster
Removed: Every time you sleep, there's a 50% chance your sleepwalking legs will take you somewhere else.
Reasoning: The fact that saving is partially tied to sleeping and 50% of the time there is a chance you wake up somewhere else became annoying fast.
