📋 About This Mod

More chaotic combat through debuffs, stamina rebalance, and chip damage.

Description:

First of all, this is not meant to be immersive or realistic. I wanted melee to be more dynamic and chaotic.

Also I wanted to move away from the stamina dependency for damage, where the player can be invincible if high stamina, or might as well be naked when low stamina.

Most of the added effects work when the player is in combat stance. If you run away while in combat and you get hit, most likely debuffs won't work.

The logic relies on detecting animations for player and closest NPC. So, duels should work fine, but multiple close enemies or standing on corpses might trip the logic somewhat.

This mod used to include animations modifications, which are now available as a standalone mod: Faster combat animations. I recommend using it along this mod. If you do, remember that animation files are not PTF.

Buffs to stamina parameters, like total amount and regen speed for both player and opponent.

Also, I reduced the increased damage when you're out of stamina.

Decreased damage received after armor reduction for both player and opponent (more reduction for opponent). Represented by 'hlh' stat. I nerfed Aqua Vitalis since it affects the same stat.

Chip damage is implemented: there will be small amounts of damage taken for normal blocking, and more for unblocked hits. For both player and opponents.

The chip damage is calculated based on weapon attack, armor defense, warfare and strength. This is subject to change.

Perfect blocks consume stamina, the amount is also calculated similarly to damage.

For now chip damage isn't applied to unarmed attacks for NPCs until I can figure out how to make it non lethal.

Buffs and debuffs

Enemies get warfare+1 when they riposte (stackable), and lose it once they hit you.

They also get a stackable malus to riposte probability, aiming to stop the infinite riposte loop if both fighters have a lot of stamina.

The player gets warfare+1 if your riposte hits the opponent (stackable but short duration).

Normal blocks apply a debuff which makes weapons degrade faster for a short time. (both player and opponent) (on top of the chip damage)

Unblocked hits apply a debuff which makes armor degrade faster for a short time. (both player and opponent) (on top of the chip damage)

On top of that, unblocked hits will apply a random, short duration debuff to the player which can have various effect, such as:

-lower combat skills

-lower general stats

-exhaust damage

-hunger damage

-visual effects like being poisoned or drunk (can be disabled, see install incstructions)
