Better Horses

Description

This mod increases the stats of all named buyable and otherwise ownable horses in KCD2.

There are two versions available.

Better Horses No Buff

Regular Version, just install and forget.

Better Horses

Same as the other versions for all horses except Pebbles and Herring.

Both Pebbles and Herring start out as pretty bad horses with low stats. After you ride them for quite a while, hidden perks are activated. "Good Old Pebbles" gives a buff to Pebbles stats, and "Red Herring" gives a buff to Herrings stats.

With these buffs Pebbles and Herring become two of the best horses in the game. However, they aren't the best in any one category.

This version increases the stats Pebbles and Herring start with, but don't max them out. You still need to earn their respective perks for that. This version is just for those of you who want to earn having the fastest horse.

Installation

CHOOSE ONLY ONE FILE !!!

Extract that file in the games Mods folder. If you don't have one, you need to create it.

It should look like this:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance2\Mods\modname

Make sure that the folder inside the Mods folder is one of these:

betterhorsesnobuff

-or-

betterhorses

OR

Install with Vortex. I don't use it, but it should work.

Additional Information

Their is another mod, Pebbles Ascended (PTF), that changes the effect of the hidden perks so that Pebbles and Herring start out as the terrible horses Warhorse wanted them to be, but become the best horses in the game later.

However, I couldn't get that mod to work and according to other comments under that mod, many others couldn't, either.

Still, if you prefer what that mod does over my mod, head over there and try it out for yourself.

Alternatively, you can just wait until you get one of those hidden perks before you install my mod.

All horse stats have an upper limit. Increasing the stats more than I have has no effect in the game.

Compatibility

Not compatible with any mod that changes horses.xml.
