📋 About This Mod
Adds a new blacksmith recipe to two vendors (Osina in Trosky Castle and Master Peter Mannlicher in Kuttenberg) that can produce a shortsword modeled similar to a historic Oakshott type XIX blade found in the Royal Armories' inventory.
EDIT: Due to issues with the Trosky blacksmith I have updated the files. In addition to where they should be sold, the sketch can now also be found in a chest in Trosky Castle, just above the smithy.
The Arsenal of Alexandria preserved a series of frankly beautiful swords in the late 14th - early 15th century. Elegant, functional, and with a unique profile, this blade is one of my favorites. Primarily this is intended to add a historically grounded yet differently aesthetic choice to the game.
Functionally, it's close to a Noble's sword (with a little bit more defense and a little less blunt damage), so it can provide a fairly solid mix of stats without becoming a top-end contender like Valentin's.
You can acquire this weapon through crafting; the blacksmith Osina at Trosky Castle and Peter Mannlicher the weaponsmith in Kuttenberg carry the designs. Minimum of 5 levels in Craftsmanship required. There are two reasons of this. The first is that by a historical context, we don't know when or where this sword was created. The only point of reference is when it was gifted from the arsenal in 1432 - where it had existed for some time before that - and a few other swords that are sort of close in appearance dating back to 1365. It may have been involved in the tribute from King Janus of Cypress in 1426, but that doesn't point to its origin either. So, why not have Henry make it? Also, secondly, the profile of the blade actually looks like the bar of iron you hammer out during the smithing process, and for some reason that's bothered me for awhile now.
For other people who know of this sword, I intentionally left off the Arabic script. That writing declares it as a gift from Sultan Barsbāy in 1432, making it anachronistic for the time period of the game. Moreover, Sultan Barsbāy doesn't even ascend to power until 1422, so even the most generous read feels out of place.

I have never made a mod before, so if anyone wants to take the files and edit/repurpose/improve them in any way, feel free. I barely know what I'm doing as is.
