Canon Pteranodon Sounds (Replacement Sound Mod)

Now I'm proud of this one, definitely was difficult putting it together but it came out swell!

I'm especially happy with how vanilla it feels, almost like Frontier could've whipped up something similar.

Although.

It was, interesting, actually putting the mod together, sound ques are all over the place and the two variants have overlapping files.

There's also not many clean rips of the 2001 Pteranodon, however, combining old files with new Frontier files proved fruitful!

(I did keep quite a few of the Frontier original 2001 Ptera sounds, as they're quite nice and fit in too!)

After some tinkering though I've been able to put the two distinct vocal sets into appropriate ques!

And whilst there still is some sound overlap, I wouldn't say it's enough to notice, plus it also helps broaden the 2015 sound set!

The mod's especially cool during a mass breakout with multiple pterosaurs attacking your chopper!

Really feels like you're in the movie!

Also, after the February 2026 update, there's a whole new component to this sound mod!

Please welcome the Geosternbergia, I was not gonna give this guy his own page so its sounds are included in this mod instead!

With the JW Pteranodon in this mod now using its proper movie sounds, I wanted to reintroduce its cool vanilla sounds in some way!

That way came in the way of me always being completely whelmed by the Geosternbergia sounds, you can see where this is going.

Geo now uses a mix of the original JWE 2 Pteranodon sounds and some of the noises it (or Pteranodon, who knows) made in TLW!

So yeah, Geosternbergia now basically functions as a 1997 Pteranodon sound mod, I hope you guys will enjoy it!
