📋 About This Mod
Turiasaurus is a type of sauropod dinosaur that lived in the Late Jurassic period, about 155 to 146 million years ago. It is known from only one fossil specimen that was found in Spain, and it is named after the Latin name of the province where it was discovered. Turiasaurus is one of the largest dinosaurs ever found from Europe. It was estimated to be over 30 meters long and weigh up to 50 tons. Turiasaurus had a relatively small head with heart-shaped teeth, a shorter neck, long tail, and a robust body with four pillar-like legs. Turiasaurus belongs to a group of basal sauropods called Turiasauria, which also includes other genera from Europe, North America, and Africa. Turiasauria is characterized by having vertical neural spines on the back vertebrae, a distinct ridge on the lower arm bone, and a lack of some features that are common in more advanced sauropods.
