Trip's Istiodactylus (New Species w Replacement Option)(v1.11)

Meet Istiodactylus a genus of pterosaur, a type of flying reptile, that soared through the skies of the Early Cretaceous period, roughly 120 million years ago. Fossils of this creature have been uncovered in Europe, particularly on England's Isle of Wight. Unlike its feathered avian counterparts today, Istiodactylus had wings formed by a membrane stretched between an elongated fourth finger and its body. While initially thought to be a duck-like piscivore, recent studies suggest Istiodactylus likely filled an ecological niche similar to modern-day vultures, specializing in scavenging carrion. It was characterized by a broad snout, large naso-antorbital fenestrae and distinctive, laterally compressed teeth that interlocked when the jaws were closed. These teeth, along with its strong jaw muscles, were well-suited for slicing flesh from carcasses. The wings were adapted for soaring, enabling it to efficiently locate food sources.
