  • []Rhomaleosaurus: This was a large marine reptile that lived in the Early Jurassic period, about 183 to 176 million years ago. It belonged to the group of plesiosaurs called rhomaleosaurids, which had short necks and large heads compared to other plesiosaurs. Rhomaleosaurus had a strong skull and powerful jaws with sharp teeth, which it used to hunt fish, ammonites, and other marine reptiles. It measured about 5-8 meters long and was one of the top predators in its environment.

  []Morturneria: This was a rare and unusual plesiosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. It was found in Antarctica, where it shared the sea with other plesiosaurs and mosasaurs. Morturneria had a long neck and a long snout, but unlike most plesiosaurs, it did not use its teeth to catch prey. Instead, it was a filter feeder, using its sieve-like teeth to strain small animals from the muddy seafloor. It was similar to a modern gray whale in its feeding habits. Morturneria was about 7-10 meters long and had four paddle-like limbs for swimming.

• Serpentisuchops: This was a newly discovered plesiosaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 million years ago. It was found in Wyoming, USA, where it inhabited a shallow sea that covered much of North America. Serpentisuchops was a member of the polycotylid plesiosaurs, which had short necks and long snouts. However, Serpentisuchops was different from other polycotylids, as it had both a long neck and a long snout. This combination of features may have helped it avoid competition with other marine reptiles by occupying a different ecological niche. Serpentisuchops was over 6-7 meters long and had a flexible neck that allowed it to strike at prey from the side.
