Chaos Effect - Compstegnathus (New Species)

This mod adds the Compstegnathus as a new species to the game.

The Compstegnathus originally appeared in the Chaos Effect toyline in 1998, and despite the toy-line generally being poorly received (and inevitably cancelled), it still has its fans.  The designs of its hybrids where VERY brightly colored (one of its biggest criticisms) and have extremely stylized anatomy/proportions, which made this a fun

challenge to redesign it to be a little more grounded in reality while still keeping a touch of those original characteristics.

• []1. 0 - initial release - Compstegnathus comes with a complete set of skin colors & patterns.  Patterns are bioluminescent and will glow at night time.  This hybrid can also safely cohabitate with Stegosaurus.  If enabled, it has functional research unlocks (tested in sandbox).  Research requirements are Compsognathus & Stegosaurus genomes at 100% and 3 star park rating. Completing the research will instantly unlock the complete hybrid genome.

  []1. 1 - This should fix the Icons issue that could cause crashing in species viewer, database, & hatchery.

  Compatibility: should be compatible with pretty much anything.  That said, this mod does modify species cohabitation preferences for Stegosaurus, so there could be a slight compatibility issue if another mod changes the same .fdbs containing Stego data.

  Installation: navigate to where ever you have JWE2 installed and extract the mod folder in Jurassic World Evolution 2\Win64\ovldata\

  Uninstallation: delete the AHRT01Compstegnathus folder

  Known Issues:

  • []do not look at it in Species Viewer, then try to load/start a save and try to release it - it likely won't work.  If you do this, restart the game before loading into a save. Install the Species Viewer Fix mod to fix this issue.

    []has the usual new species problem where animations with fighting, hunting, etc don't visually work properly

    
  • If the game crashes in database, species viewer, hatchery, or any other locations where the species' icon would display, replace the AHRT01Compstegnathus_Icons_Package.ovl from the main file with the Optional Files version.  This issue should be fixed in version 1. 1 of the main file, but I will leave the optional file up for now until I hear for sure that 1. 1 is working (v1. 0 Main File worked fine for me despite crashing for others, so its been tricky to troubleshoot.)
