Willow Martial Style

This mod replaces Thousand Cuts on the custom character menu with a new entry. The icon for it at creation is just a white square, but in-game the icon is willow leaves. The mod uses hidden assets from Heavenly Wave to make a new type of Kungfu. The style is not OP, and requires good timing and placement, but when you get the hang of it, you will find that your character twists and avoids many strikes that would have hit you if you had been using any other style. As mentioned in the info screen in-game, the Power Attack is a clone of Heavenly Wave's that will work at a short distance to very briefly slow an opponent and complete Harmonic Combos. This can be devastating if you are adept at switching styles on the fly during combat. The weakness of the style is its lack of attack mobility. You are all but rooted in place during attacks, and if you did not start your attack sequence in the right spot, you will oftentimes miss with part or all of the combo chain. Practice makes perfect, so good thing that there's a lot of bad guys in Jade Empire!

INSTALLATION

Extract the file contents. Copy contents to your Jade Empire folder.

The steam version path is:

Steam/steamapps/common/Jade Empire

Before doing this, you might want to backup your dialog.tlk file if it is used in other mods you have installed. This mod will conflict with them, but all I changed in the dialog.tlk file was the placeholder entry for Willow from the original vanilla game. The style was cut from the final release, but there were traces of it still lingering in the game files.

If you don't care about seeing the style description in-game, then you can skip copying over dialog.tlk and just put the stuff from the mod's override folder into your game's override folder. It will overwrite stylesuperlist. 2da and styledata. 2da, which is fine as long as you don't have any other mods that change the vanilla styles. This mod is compatible with my clawless Leaping Tiger mod, if that one was installed before this one.
