📋 About This Mod

Craft at nearby benches using ingredients pulled straight from nearby chests -- no more hauling materials by hand. Also adds Quick-Stack (Alt+G) to stash backpack items into nearby storage in one press. (Same as add to stacks, just not one

Crafting benches pull missing ingredients from nearby chests and other benches automatically no more hauling materials by hand. Quick-stack puts them away just as easily, into chests or benches, with one keypress.

What This Does

Two features:

Craft-from-nearby: crafting benches near you will automatically pull missing ingredients from nearby chests, cupboards, and (optionally) other crafting benches' own storage, the same way they already pull from your own backpack.

Quick-stack (Alt + G): press it near your storage to move backpack items into nearby chests, cupboards, and crafting benches in one go.

Multiplayer

IF YOU PLAY ON A DEDICATED SERVER, THE MOD MUST BE INSTALLED ON THE SERVER TOO, NOT JUST ON YOUR CLIENT. It will not work with a client-side install alone.

Each player who wants to use quick-stack or craft-from-nearby also needs it on their own client. Item movement triggered by a player who has the mod replicates correctly to everyone else at the table, mod or no mod, with no desync.

Confirmed working on single player, client hosted co-op, and a dedicated server.

UPDATING FROM AN OLDER VERSION? TWO THINGS

1. When Windows asks, choose "Replace the files in the destination". Do not skip.

This download ships safer UE4SS settings and they only apply if you let them replace the old ones. They switch off Ctrl+R (a mod-development shortcut that reloads every mod mid-game) and the developer dumper hotkeys Ctrl+J, Ctrl+H and Ctrl+Num6 to Num9. None are useful while playing, all are easy to hit by accident, and they've been linked to real crashes and long freezes. If you skip the replace, Ctrl+R will keep crashing your game.

If you run other LUA mods: replacing also overwrites ue4ss\Mods\mods.txt, the list of which Lua mods load. Ours lists only what this download needs, so you'll need to add your other Lua mods back to it. Blueprint mods are unaffected, they load a different way.

2. Make sure there's only ONE IcarusCraftNet folder in Icarus\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\.

If you have another from an older download or test build (for example "IcarusCraftNetPerf"), delete it. Replacing files does not remove a folder with a different name, and both will load. Everything then happens twice, which doubles resource counts and can crash the game.

Requirements

None beyond the base game. This download includes everything needed (UE4SS is bundled) no separate framework install required.

Installation

1. Find your Icarus install folder. In Steam: right-click Icarus in your Library -> Manage -> Browse Local Files.

2. Open the folder: Icarus\Binaries\Win64

3. Copy BOTH of these into that folder (merge, don't replace, if a "ue4ss" folder already exists there from another mod):

- dwmapi.dll

- the whole "ue4ss" folder

4. Launch Icarus normally through Steam. That's it no other setup needed.

How To Tell It Installed Correctly

Go to a crafting bench, and try crafting something that needs an ingredient you only have in a nearby chest (not in your backpack). If the craft succeeds, it's working the bench pulled the ingredient from storage automatically.

Alt + G quick-stack: move backpack items into nearby chests and crafting benches

All settings live in:

Icarus\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\IcarusCraftNet\config\containernet.ini

Every setting has a description above it. Edit a value and press Ctrl+F9 in-game to reload it without restarting (changing a keybind needs a full restart instead).

The settings most players might want to change:

ScanRadius how far (in game units) the mod looks for chests. Default ~15m.

AllowContainerClasses which storage types count as chests. Defaults to Crate, Cupboard, Ice chest; add more names if you have other containers I've missed.

AllowBenchClasses which bench types crafting can draw ingredients from (in addition to chests) and quick-stack can top off. Pre-populated with every bench type tested so far; clear the list if you'd rather turn this off. If a bench type you use isn't recognized, press Ctrl+F6 next to it the log names the exact class to add.

Known Limitations

"Max" button in crafting menu doesn't work with resources not currently in the player's inventory, looking into it.

Crafting directly from your personal inventory screen (not at a placed bench) does not pull from chests this is intentional, not a bug: an earlier version of this feature could crash in that specific situation, so it's disabled there until proven safe. Crafting at any placed bench works normally.

* By default, quick-stack will also deposit into a b
