Native HDR is working fine in the game. Only one of the settings is broken and it's most likely an accident. Hopefully it gets fixed soon in a patch, but until that's done, you can use this mod to enjoy the game in HDR as intended instead of using worse solutions like RTX HDR.
The mod fixes the HDR Max Luminance slider not having any effect. Currently it's being overwritten by a 300 nit value regardless of what you set there.
The HDR calibration screen is also functionally useless as it only reaches the paperwhite brightness value. Don't calibrate your settings based on what you see there, use actual gameplay. The defaults should be fine for most, the only tweak you probably have to do is set the max luminance to your screen's peak brightness.
INSTALLATION:
Place both files from the archive in the game's main folder, next to the .exe.
