SimpleShade for Hogwarts Legacy

SimpleShade is my personal series of ReShade presets that I tend to create for any game I install ReShade on, and its mission statement is simple: make dark areas truly dark, light areas truly bright, and sharpen everything to look crisp -- without impacting performance at all (or very minimally).

That's exactly what you have here.

I may expand the description in the future, but I'm going to leave it (unironically) simple for now.

There may or may not be adjustments made as I continue to play; sometimes I do notice that certain values need tweaking here and there. My philosophy is that it should look good all of the time, not some of the time -- though that is, of course, subjective.

Either way, enjoy! Or don't. I'm not here to tell you what to do. :)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1) Download this mod. (I can upload a .zip version upon request)

2) Download ReShade. (I use version 5. 4. 2, but the latest should work just fine.)

3) Extract the SimpleShade - Hogwarts Legacy.ini -- my ReShade.

4) Install ReShade, and when asked to select a preset to install, navigate to where you extracted my ReShade and choose "SimpleShade - Hogwarts Legacy.ini". This will ensure all of the necessary effects packages are installed. If you chose to skip this, make sure to check the quint effects package. Choose the DirectX 10/11/12 option when prompted.

5) You should be good to go. Start the game, and when the ReShade menu pops up at the top of the screen, press the "Home" key to open the menu. Either go through the tutorial or skip it.

6) If the ReShade isn't automatically applied, you can select it from the drop-down menu.
