Sterilizer Heal - TX-41 sprays stims instead of gas

Note - I've had people dm and comment regarding the state of the mod. Right now there's two ways to heal yourself ingame, your usual stims which are stronger, and your stim pistol which has a weaker stim, this mod in theory should give you lesser heals than either of them due to the fact that there is little heal over time. I made this mod cause I couldn't heal people with my stim pistol at 20fps. The alternative was to make an easier to use and aim but weaker stim deliverer and the sterilizer was what I picked for this. The gun DOES NOT do any damage now and is simply a heal weapon.

The TX-41 Sterilizer sprays stims instead of gas. Point it at a Helldiver, heal them.

Everything about the weapon stays the same - range, ammo, fuel burn, handling, the spray effect itself. The only change is what the spray does when it lands on someone. Healing has been observed working on other players in multiplayer. Arrowhead made the sterilizer weak for no reason and as a weapon that came along with the stim pistol, it now gets the love it deserves.

What changes

  []Its gas damage and gas cloud effects are gone. This is a conversion, not an addition - while this mod is active the Sterilizer is a support tool, not a weapon.[/]

  []The AX/TX-13 "Dog Breath" guard dog is not affected. It uses a separate record and is left alone.[/]

  Requirements

  • []Bingus Shared Loader v15 or newer. Install and enable it first, and keep it ahead of this mod in load order.[/]

    []A mod manager - HD2 Mod Manager or Arsenal both work.[/]

    Install

    • []Close the game.[/]

      []Enable the Shared Loader, then enable this mod.[/]

      []Purge / Deploy, and launch.[/]

      []Check %LOCALAPPDATA%\Hd2SterilizerHeal\SterilizerHeal.log. A line starting with APPLIED: Sterilizer means it is working.[/]

      To uninstall, disable it and restart the game. Nothing in your game files is modified and nothing persists after the game closes.

      When the game updates

      Helldivers 2 patches move the data this mod looks for. The mod checks the game's data before touching anything and refuses to write if it does not find exactly what it expects - so after an update it will simply do nothing and log fingerprint mismatch. That is the mod failing safely, not breaking your game. Watch this page for an updated release.

      How it works

      Helldivers 2 keeps weapon data in encrypted files that are only readable once loaded into memory. This mod locates the damage table in the running process, verifies the Sterilizer's record still looks exactly as expected, and swaps its gas status effect for a stim one. It touches that one record, verifies the result and logs it.

      No network connections. No files touched beyond its own log and config. No executables or precompiled code - it is plain Lua running inside the loader, and the source is in the download if you want to read it.
