v0. 2. 0 — Major recognition update

v0. 2. 0 introduces a new recognition system that captures Stratagem and Booster icon templates directly from your current game instead of relying on bundled game icon assets.

As a result, newly added or changed game icons can usually work without waiting for an app update — and you can use the icon mods you like. Mostly.

Recognition, scrolling, and page alignment have also been substantially reworked for better reliability across different resolutions, HDR/SDR, brightness settings, modified icon opacity, and scaled UI sizes.

Quick Start

• []Extract the ZIP to a separate folder and run HD2PresetHelper.exe.[/]

  []Open the loadout home screen and select all four Stratagems and, optionally, a Booster.[/]

  []Hold Ctrl + Shift to show the preset overlay.[/]

  []While holding them, tap  F7–F12 and release all keys. The program then saves the current loadout to the corresponding preset slot.[/]

  []Later, open the loadout screen with all four Stratagem slots empty and repeat the same key combination to apply that preset.[/]

HD2 Preset Helper runs in the system tray. Right-click the tray icon and select Exit to close it.

Preset behavior

• []All four Stratagem slots filled: saves or overwrites the selected preset.[/]

  []All four Stratagem slots empty: applies the selected preset.[/]

  []Partially filled: no action is performed.[/]

The Booster is optional and is saved together with the four Stratagems.

Important: Display resolution

Windowed, Borderless Window and Fullscreen modes are supported.

When using Borderless Window or Fullscreen, the in-game resolution must match the current Windows desktop resolution of the display running the game.

Compatibility

• []Windows 10 version 1903 (build 18362) or later, or Windows 11.[/]

  []Tested at common resolutions from 720p to 2160p.[/]

  []Several non-16:9 aspect ratios have also been tested.[/]

  []Tested with Windows HDR enabled using the default in-game UI brightness.[/]

Unusual aspect ratios, custom display scaling and non-default HDR UI brightness settings have not been fully tested.

Configuration

The application creates a data folder beside the executable.

• []data/config.toml — hotkeys, overlay settings and optional behavior.[/]

  []data/presets.json — saved presets.[/]

  []data/app.log — diagnostic log.[/]

Presets are normally saved through the in-game controls and do not need to be edited manually.

The default keys can be changed in data/config.toml if they conflict with another application or system shortcut.

Limitations

• []Use the preset controls only on the loadout home screen.[/]

  []The loadout interface should be visible and no longer transitioning.[/]

  []Game UI updates may temporarily affect recognition.[/]

  []The utility is intended only for the pre-mission loadout selection interface.[/]

Troubleshooting

If pressing a preset key does nothing, check that:

• []HD2 Preset Helper is running in the system tray.[/]

  []The loadout home screen is open.[/]

  []All four Stratagem slots are either filled or empty.[/]

  []The configured keys are not being used by another application or system shortcut.[/]

When reporting a recognition or input problem, include:
