Lord Hood Boy's Goldmine Campaign

What is the Goldmine Campaign?

This campaign utilizes halo 3’s landmines as an RNG mechanic to

spawn Traps, Equipment and Gold Weapons. There are over 100 possible

events that can spawn from these “Goldmines”.

All of the traps are designed to be avoidable but also force the player to rely more on

their instincts and play with heightened levels of awareness. The

featured trap is the confetti bomb which has a 10 second windup and

you don’t wanna be around when it explodes.

This mod currently has about 50 custom gold weapons with an additional 12 uber gold

weapon variants. There are also a handful of “miscellaneous”

custom weapons such as the dorito and forklift guns. The original

halo 3 sandbox has been untouched and left in place, the gold weapons

(and uber weapons) act as additional tiers of sandbox.

Sometimes the mines spawn useful equipment or effects such as a gold healing aura

and universal gold weapon ammo. Place the deployable turret or use the antigravity

generator to rise above your enemies.

The gold weapons may seem OP at first and they absolutely are compared to the

vanilla guns in the sandbox, but this mod was designed to be

challenging with increased numbers of enemies and enemy variants. Even the

strongest weapons are situational and you are still going to have an uphill

battle against the covenant/flood while avoiding traps. And if that

wasn’t enough, Lord Hood Boy will often join in the chaos.
