Halo Reach - Ultimate Audio Overhaul

Halo: Reach has a lot of good sounds. It also has a lot of ugly ones. Dissatisfied with just replacing sounds with others, I set about completely remaking Reach's audio with my own, owing to my vast dragon's hoard of audio libraries. The process has been slow and I only work when high.

This focuses on audio you'll hear pretty much any time you fire up a game of Reach, campaign or otherwise. Weapons and movement foley, nothing much more.

As for the 'legality' of this mod, I've been liberally using it on multiplayer games on the EAC-enabled version of the MCC on Steam. This is a completely clientside mod and does not affect anything but the local files on your machine. Until we get get confirmation that clientside replacer mods are free to use, use at your own risk.

  INSTALLATION

  1. Navigate to (YOUR STEAM DIRECTORY)\SteamApps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\haloreach\fmod\pc

  2. Backup or rename "sfx.fsb" (to something like sfx_original.fsb).

  3. Place the mod's "sfx.fsb" into the folder.

  4. Restart your game.

  To uninstall, delete the mod's sfx.fsb and rename your backup copy of the original back to its original name.
