Grim Dawn - Full voiceover overhaul (genAI)

Description

In vanilla Grim Dawn, many major characters greet you with fantastic voice acting for their opening lines, only for the rest of their dialogues, quest responses, and deep lore discussions to suddenly drop into silence. This, at least for me, disrupts the immersion a lot, so I wanted to add those dialogues in for myself. Then I figured - why not make this avaialble.

This mod solves that disparity by providing 100% complete voice acting for every single partially-voiced character in the game. Using high-fidelity AI voice cloning matched precisely to each character's original voice actor. The original voiced lines are untouched, and simply complimented by added lines where they were missing.

DISCLAIMER:

This is a gen-AI created voiceacting overhaul for a game I like and wanted to immerse myself into more fully. Though I paid for the voice cloning of the original cast voices, I will not be asking for any payment or donations (The mod is opted in for rewards, and 100% of the proceeds go to Doctors without Borders). My desire was to simply improve on an already great game in an area that was bugging me a little. If this breaches any ToS or the original voiceactors or the creators of the game don't like it for any reason, simply contact me and the mod will be removed.

Installation instructions

This mod uses Grim Dawn's native `/basemods` feature. This means:

- You play directly in your normal Main Campaign (your characters and progression are untouched).

- You do not need to start a "Custom Game".

- Your original game installation files are never modified or replaced.

1. Download and extract this archive.

2. Inside, you will find a `mods` folder containing:

- `database.arz` (Required trigger for /basemods)

- `Conversations.arc` (The patched dialogue trees)

- `Sound.arc` (The voiceover audio)

3. Copy the `mods` folder directly into your main Grim Dawn installation folder.

The resulting path on your computer should look like this:

4. Add "/basemods" as a launch parameter for the game in your launcher.

Uninstallation:

1. Remove `/basemods` from your Steam/GOG Launch Options.

2. Delete `Conversations.arc` and `Sound.arc` from your `Grim Dawn/mods/` folder.

Your save files, characters, and vanilla game integrity remain completely unaffected.

- DLC & Expansions: Fully compatible with Base Game, Ashes of Malmouth, Forgotten Gods, and Fangs of Asterkarn.

- Rainbow Filter / Item Filters: 100% compatible! (Rainbow Filter only touches item localization text files; this mod only touches voice WAVs and conversation trees).

- Custom Campaign Mods: If you are running an overhaul mod in Custom Game that modifies vanilla `.cnv` files, load priorities will be governed by Grim Dawn's mod loading rules.
