Description

BetterLive - NPC Worker is a BetterLive module for Green Hell.

This module adds a local helper NPC worker that can be spawned by the player and controlled through a command menu.

The NPC can follow the player, gather selected resources, cut trees in a defined area and interact with assigned resting places.

The goal of this module is to add a lightweight survival assistant without fully replacing the normal gameplay loop.

It is designed as an experimental BetterLive gameplay feature and may still require testing in different saves, locations and game versions.

Main Features

  []Teleport recovery - includes recovery handling when the NPC becomes stuck or too far away.[/]

  []Debug tools - optional logs and look-at object dumping for troubleshooting.[/]

  Worker Commands

  The command menu can include tasks such as:

    []Gather Small Sticks[/]

    []Gather Long Sticks[/]

    []Gather Big Stones[/]

    []Gather Logs[/]

    []Cut Wood In Area[/]

    The NPC attempts to find compatible items or targets in the area and move them toward compatible stands or storage locations where possible.

    Note: Some worker behavior depends on world state, item placement, nearby stands, loaded scenes and valid navigation paths. This module is experimental and may not work perfectly in every location.

    Configuration

    The module creates its own configuration file:

    BepInEx/config/BetterLive/NpcWorker.cfg

    Main configuration options include:

    • []Enabled - enables or disables the NPC Worker module.[/]

      []SpawnKey - key used to spawn the NPC.[/]

      []DespawnKey - key used to despawn the NPC.[/]

      []CommandMenuKey - key used to open the NPC command menu.[/]

      []HelpKey - key used for the “Help him” interaction.[/]

      []TalkKey - key used to talk with the NPC.[/]

      []AssignKey - key used to assign the NPC to a bed or hammock.[/]

      []DebugDumpLookAtKey - debug key for dumping components of the object the player is looking at.[/]

      []DebugLog - enables additional diagnostic logs.[/]

      The config may also store runtime values such as assigned bed position and whether the NPC has already been helped.

      For the safest result, restart the game after changing the configuration file.

      Installation

      1. Install BepInEx for Green Hell.

      2. Install BetterLive Hub.

      3. Extract this archive into your Green Hell game folder.

      The file should end up here:

      4. Start the game.

      5. Check the BepInEx console or log file to confirm that the module loaded correctly.
