Editable Health Regen (no green glow)

Description

Adds passive health regeneration to Kratos in God of War Ragnarok. This mod uses direct health meter regen instead of the built-in Nokken regeneration effect, which makes the values easy to edit in the Lua file.

By default, Kratos regenerates health slowly during combat and a little faster outside of combat. It is meant to smooth out longer fights and exploration without completely removing difficulty. The regen values can be changed easily if you want it slower, faster, or closer to the original feel.

Installation instructions

  []Open your God of War Ragnarok install folder.[/]

  []Place the mod files into the main God of War Ragnarok game folder, where the game executable is located.[/]

  []If you already have a main.lua from another mod, back it up first. This mod edits main.lua, so replacing it may overwrite other Lua changes.[/]

  []Launch the game normally.[/]

The regen code is inside the OnCreatureUpdate(C) function. That is the section that runs while the game is updating Kratos, so it is where the passive healing is applied.

Open main.lua with Notepad or Notepad++ and look for the health regen section.

Lower numbers make regen slower. Higher numbers make it faster.

Uninstallation

Remove the modded main.lua and restore your original backup.

Thanks to redharlow2614 for the original God of War 2018 passive regen mod, which gave me the basic health meter regen approach. This version was adapted and rebuilt for God of War Ragnarok with editable combat and out-of-combat regen values.
