📋 About This Mod
Disclaimer: large portions of this program were written by AI. I'm not here to debate about it; if you want to read about this program's development and my reasonings for using AI you will find info at the bottom of this file.
Resinless Behavior is a Genshin Impact desktop companion app. I'm not very good at making tutorials so I'll try my best to explain the main features and scope of the program.
Installation
This a portable app so you can just unzip it and run it. It writes save data directly in its folder so avoid read-only folders like the regular Program Files.
To run it requires . NET9. You probably already have it on your computer, and if you don't you will be automatically prompted by Microsoft to download it.
The in-app browser window used to open Qiqi's Notebook requires Microsoft's WebView2: https://developer.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/webview2/
The app overall works even without it, but the browser will be unavailable.
If you want to use my template grammar generators rename the folder "template-grammar" to "data".
Starting out
When you start the app with no save files it will look different compared to the screenshots I provided. On the first page you will be greeted by seven Aethers with no stats. The first thing you should do is go into the settings and download weapon and sets data. Then add your characters to the roster and import their data.
If you chose to not copy over my grammar files you will also have to define the full grammar yourself.
Its features are presented in tabs. I'll go through one by one.
Character Archive
Here is where the characters in your roster are displayed.
The list on the left has all the characters. The other columns are: Artifact Rating (AR, more on this later), NA, E and Q for the talent levels.
On the top there are two dropdowns to select the artifact sets the character has equipped.
Below that are the Talent levels. You set the numbers on the left to the actual values of the character, and the numbers on the right to the level at which you want to get. The talents you still need to level are highlighted in yellow on the left panel.
Below the Talents are the Loadouts. You can save different loadouts for a character so that you can quickly swap artifacts and weapons. Double click a line to rename the loadout; right click for set as default/new/copy/delete.
The five boxes on the right represent each artifact piece for the selected loadout. They have two sets of 5 dropdowns each: the top ones select the main stat for the artifact, the other the substats. The ones on the left represent the stats you'd like on the artifact, the ones on the right the stats actually on your artifact. Input the values in the boxes to the right. The color bars to the left of the dropdowns indicate the weights assigned to the substats: gold = 4, purple = 3, blue = 2, green = 1, nothing = 0 (more on weights later). These weights are reflected on the right side of the substats when the substat type matches. The checkboxes at the bottom right are used to define a piece as "off set", meaning it's not part of the 4pc or 2x2pc sets the character is currently using. It's only there for personal bookkeeping.
Next to the label for the piece type (Flower, Feather, ...) there's a dropdown that you can set to the values S, A, B, C. This value is completely subjective and represents how good you think that piece is. These numbers define the Artifact Rating: each piece can score from 0 to 4 points, thus a character's AR can go from 0 to 20.
If you want a more granular calculation of how good an artifact actually is you can use the Estimate button. But first we have to talk about weights. When you select the substats you want on a piece the order in which you choose them matters. By default they have the weights 4, 3, 2, 1 starting from the top. You can right click any substat and set its custom weight. A higher weight means that substat is more desirable, so its rolls will always be considered more.
Back to the Estimate button: this feature simulates artifact farming and leveling to +20 to tell you how likely you are to get a better artifact than the one currently equipped. In the top of the page there's a dropdown menu to select the source: the main difference for selecting Domain or Strongbox is if you want results that are more likely to be 4-liners, and therefore statistically better. They also give you the estimate of how much resin or fodder artifacts would be needed. World Boss is also an option, but it's kinda useless since no one farms bosses for Gladiators or Wanderers.
I checked multiple times that the results from the artifact simulation were correct, and they seem correct to me, but I can't 100% guarantee that they're not off by some margin.
Also you can use the Es
