Jax over Rodney (Release)

Tired of Rodney's incessant insults and banter? Wish you could spend your shifts with literally anyone else? Why not bring along Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus! Lore Caine's been a bit off his rocker as of late, and this time he's decided that sending everyone on another job simulator is a great idea! Though, Jax may have gotten the short end of the stick here. After all, who would want to be stranded in an abandoned, rundown pizzeria with washed-up animatronics who do nothing but sit around and talk about themselves all day? This is where you--yes, YOU--come in! Save Jax from this tomato sauce-stained hell for the hefty overtime bonus of -$1 and in return, he'll sit next to you and stare at you and make ominous threats to you and insult your gaming skills all night! What a dream come true. Features Introducing version 1. 0 of this mod! Thanks to everyone who's stuck around for the past like, four-ish days and left nice comments on the WiP, it means a lot. If you're seeing this for the first time though, hi! This mod contains: All of Rodney's sprites replaced with Jax. (duh) 30 new lines of dialogue! (Includes random quips, salvage intro line, deathcoin line, and some other goodies) Special salvage interactions for certain custom guards! (Includes Bubble, Caine, Gangle, N, Pomni, Ragatha, Ribbit, and Zooble as of now! Yes, Kinger will come in an update later, don't worry. Keep in mind that none of the listed custom guards or the creators of said guards are affiliated with me or this mod in any way, I'm just having fun. Note that the interactions are not locked to the specific versions of the guards you see in the previews. For example, I know there's at least three Pomni custom guards out there for this game. Either one works, so long as the names are set properly, which they should be by default.) A rewritten extras entry! Custom Guard Shenanigans While Jax does have a ton of unique interactions built into the mod, he unfortunately can't say something entirely different for every single custom guard ever. Not without it being coded directly into the game, that is. So unfortunately, if you don't know how to or don't feel like tampering with the data.win, you're out of luck there. Jax will simply use the default dialogue set for interactions with the base game guards and any custom guards that are not compatible. That being said...you can still give any custom guard a unique reply to what Jax normally has to say! All you have to do is add a new bit of dialogue to your guard's spoiler_properties.txt file! It's formatted exactly the same as any other special interaction in the game is: "jax": [["(your dialogue here)", "(guard name)"]] Additionally, to provide some context, here's Jax's base dialogue, including the interaction: Eh? "Security?" Caine was really on something when he made this adventure, huh...so, tell me a little bit about yourself, will ya? What's someone like you doing here? Well, seeing as there's nothing interesting going on here...mind if I hitch a ride? I'm sure you and me will have LOTS of fun! Just...don't look in the lockers. You wouldn't wanna release hundreds of snakes into your office now, would you? If your chosen guard does not have any custom interaction with Jax set up, it will just default to: You explain to him that you're just doing your obligated overtime. Dev Notes Again, thanks to everyone who liked and commented on the WiP! I had a ton of fun putting this mod together, even if it got tedious at times. Now that this is out there, I'll probably be taking a 1-2 day break from modding before coming back to work on another custom guard, so don't touch that dial just yet! Once the next major version of Frickbear's 3 releases, I'll be doing a remake of this mod for that and potentially adding more features or redone sprites, so look out for that, too! ?
