GCS Reaver VI Light Frigate Airship

Originally developed as a heavier raider to support the lighter Frostling escorts in their mission to harass shipping lanes the Reaver quickly proved itself as a capable front line combatant. It's resilience and ability to absorb damage has become especially noteworthy, especially among the GCS Air clans. The command of a Reaver is often seen as an auspicious beginning for the Grimmnir Air Captains. The Reaver is outfitted with following equipment: - 4x prow-mounted 'Thunderstrike' EMP/Frag MRMs - 1x deck-mounted 940mm HE Twin-CRAM Cannon - 1x hull-mounted 940mm HEAP Twin-CRAM Cannon - 4x IR-Flare Interceptors - 2x IR-Flare/Radar Interceptors The Reaver is mainly focused on brawling from short to medium range with other airships or trading shots with enemy shipping. Lacking any dedicated AA defenses it relies on escort craft to protect it from faster attack craft and it's twin-CRAM cannons have difficulty hitting faster moving targets. It's ability to absorb damage allow it to mitigate this fault while it's prow-mounted Thunderstrikes allow it to cripple opposing craft allowing the Reaver to bring it's heavy guns to bear. Unlike the Frostling it carries a dedicated anti-missile package consisting of 6 IR-Flare Interceptors that confuse and disable enemy missiles. When taking part in convoy raids the Reaver is often the designated command ship, coordinating among the group of Frostling escorts and associated aircraft of the strike group. With the recent esclations of the conflicts on Neter and Glao the need for dedicated ships of the line has increased, a role which the Reaver has already proven itself capable of filling.
