It costs a small fortune in early campaign but you can build the first one easily after one or two battles. Because of its sheer speed and fire-rate it can easily dominate DWG surface ships and helicopters. Once you can afford a whole squadron they can easily overwhelm even the largest ships. Following the full combat deployment of the Nighthawk all-range fighter. EK Aerospace and Ashens Foundries engineers began developing minor technical modifications to the already formidable jet fighter. Over time, these various improvements became standard in all future EK35 models and the whole air fleet evolved as a whole. Finally the Twilight Guard admiralty granted funds to EK Aerospace to complete their EK36 interceptor model. It was to be the most advanced jet fighter of it's time, far surpassing steel strider fighters even double its size. Its engines were slightly improved and cutting-edge control, targeting, and countermeasure systems were installed. To make the EK36 more robust in pure air-to-air combat it was also fitted with lightweight electrical shields to disrupt cannon fire from enemy fighters at the cost of a slightly higher thermal signature (due to increased electrical usage).
