Introduction Welcome to Barons of the North, a short custom campaign set in the distant future. There is one faction, but with 8 companies and plenty of ship variety to keep things interesting! BotN is roughly double the size of Glao. You play as a former engineer living on a frontier planet. In debt to the Empire, you've decided to go into hiding in a town called Hellovania with others who escaped the Empire, but your plans are thrown awry when Empire expeditionary forces start landing on your planet with plans to terraform it into a resort for the wealthy. The only way to get rid of them is to destroy all five of their main facilities -- but be forewarned, destroying each one will draw the attention of the Empire. Are you able to withstand the Empire's wrath? Barons of the North does not play like traditional From the Depths campaigns. There are unique design elements meant to provide a challenge to the player over the entire length of the campaign. Planning and timing are critical to your success. There are three difficulties separate from From the Depths's standard difficulty settings: 1. Barons of the North - A balanced experience, with challenging combat and resource management 2. Barons of the North Casual - Increased player resource generation make for a more relaxed experience suitable for newer players 3.
