Class description Battlecruisers (CC) are heavy surface vessels, combining high speed, decent armour and a mix of heavy APS platforms and heavy missiles. They are a essentially a combination of Frigates and Destroyers into one. Battlecruisers are designed to be able to counter most threats, except for submarines. While having thinner armour than Dreadnoughts/Battleships, the heavy firepower and speed will almost always overcome the defensive defficiencies. You can use these ships as mainstay of your fleet and expect them to carry through. The ship The Themis was once designed as an answer to the Tyr. It's hull was built around the concept of spaced armour, as HEAT was the preferred shellchoice back then. Upcoming and newer threats and weapon systems meant the vessel had to be thoroughly redesigned. Themis now stands as an answer to the newest threats, such as Megalodon. It's built around the battlecruiser concept: Relatively thin armour, relatively high speed and as much firepower as possible. It is the most advanced, most powerful battlecruiser within Eagle Industries. The ship is designed with all new guns, a departure from the well known 380mm guns found on Cerberus and Tartarus, it features 480mm guns with vastly superior firepower. It uses three, dual barrel main guns in a typical AB-X setup. Even though it carries only 6 rifles compared to the 16 of Orion, which fits in the same cost bracket, it has superior firepower due to a much higher rail charge. This allows superior performance against very heavy targets. In other areas, the ship is a straight upgrade from Cerberus. It's AA/CIWS power has been improved, mostly in the forward section of the ship. It also carries more anti-ship missiles, bringing the total number up to 16
