Class description Battlecruisers (CC) are heavy surface vessels, combining high speed, decent armour and a mix of heavy APS platforms and heavy missiles. They are a essentially a combination of Frigates and Destroyers into one. Battlecruisers are designed to be able to counter most threats, except for submarines. While having thinner armour than Dreadnoughts/Battleships, the heavy firepower and speed will almost always overcome the defensive defficiencies. You can use these ships as mainstay of your fleet and expect them to carry through. The ship The Cerberus class is one of the older cruiser designs in Eagle Industries. However, the design has been thoroughly redesigned to be able to counter the newest generation of enemy vessels. The Cerberus is in many regards a step up from the Tartarus class. She carries the same main guns as found on the Tartarus. Instead of two, she carries three main guns in a conventional AB-X setup. Thus having 50% more firepower from the main rifles. Also like the Cerberus, she carries Havoc missile silo's, but instead of 8 she carries 12. She also doubles the amount of medium sized missiles to 32, as well as carrying 4 quad torpedo launchers. Not everything is plus-sized on the Cerberus, however. The addition of an extra main gun meant there was not enough room for a forward centerline AA gun. She instead carries two wing mounted AA guns but they have less firepower than the forward turret found on the Tartarus. Be mindful about this when engaging missile sporting vessels. Armour remains the same as on the Tartarus: 3m alloy with reinforcements in key areas. Speed is slightly lower, but at 37 m/s it is still enough to outrun most surface ships.
