This mod adopts a different aproach than other simple weapon mods: the actual weapon blocks themselves are barebones barrels with no extras, and you have the freedom the mimic whatever you want around them. The subobjects seen in the screenshots are loosely modelled after the real gun systems, and are a seperate download. The final screenshot shows a customised turret system that is scratch-build, and demonstrates the possibilities of making your own setup. With the recent addition of decorations it should be easier than ever to simulate your perfect remote operated weapon turret. Building your own weapons with the blocks the game gives you is also a good way to maintain visual coherence within a vessel, contrary to some other simple weapon mods.
