Midway Carrier Engagement

In 1942, the Japanese planned a delicate raid against the American controlled island of Midway. Little did they know that resistance would come sooner than they expected. Americans: -U. S. S. Yorktown, a massive aircraft carrier of the American Carrier Group. -2 SBD-4 Dauntless', a popular naval bomber that served aboard the Yorktown and would be the planes responsible for taking down the Japanese Carrier Group at Midway. Japanese: -The Akagi, a well armed and well defended Japanese aircraft carrier, leader of the Japanese Carrier Strike Group (Kido Butai.) -2 A6M2 Zeros, the most popular Japanese Naval fighter. The end of The Battle of Midway would see the ultimate demise of U. S. S. Yorktown as well as The Akagi. The Japanese Carrier Strike Group managed to launch two bombing runs on the U. S. S. Yorktown. After a while of trying to save her, she gracefully sank to the bottom of the ocean. The Akagi and her carrier strike group, consisting of 3 other carriers, were swarmed by a massive attack group of SBD-4 Dive bombers. The Akagi was one of the first carriers to go down, marking the Japanese defeat at Midway.
