Separate Magic Merchants

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster uses the same sprites for both White and Black Mage player characters and White and Black Magic shopkeepers. This means that any visual changes to the PC's sprites will affect the shopkeepers, and vice versa. This hasn't always been the case - on the NES version, the shopkeepers looked very distinct from the White and Black Mage player characters - and even earlier versions of the Pixel Remaster had unused versions of the White and Black Mage sprites in the game files that had clearly been intended at some point to be used for the shopkeepers. The PR staff elected against using them, and those unused sprites have been deleted in subsequent updates.

This mod once more separates White and Black Magic shopkeepers from using the same map sprite as PC White and Black Mages, allowing for distinct looks for each. For example, in the included screenshots, PCs are using sprites from Gravrain's FFPR Visual Revamp mod, while shopkeepers are still using the default PR sprites for the shopkeepers. If you'd like to change up the shopkeepers' looks, you can easily edit the spritesheets for them included in the mod.

Installation instructions:

This mod requires Magicite. Once Magicite is installed, unzip this into your main FFI PR directory (in your Steam directory, it's usually steamapps/common/FINAL FANTASY PR).
