Turn Based Combat

Description

Used Classic Combat - Wait Mode ATB as a basis.

This makes normal attacks cost 1 ATB bar and adjust the damage of them to account for the slower output. Made dodge cost some ATB and guarding decreases ATB while held. Comes in 2 flavors. Normal has Limit Breaks usable at any time since I think it is more fun this way and Accurate is for purists that want Limit Breaks to spend ATB so that it is just like OG.

For you guys playing on "Classic mode" remember you can use normal attacks with F/X/Square without messing up the auto targeting and auto blocking.

Since Abilities would be a no brainer with normal attacks costing the same, I made them cost MP comparable to spells of same power.

Removed cast time of all spells to be the same as OG FF7

Decreased slowdown while the Command Menu is open, so you can wait for the ATB to fill up. (only 0. 1 and 0. 2)

Capped ATB to 1 bar, so you can only take 1 turn at a time.

Removed Delay from all spells so their effects are instantly felt, which means Blizzard and Aero don't suck anymore.

Still have to do a full playthrough, so I can't confirm the balancing.

A happy side effect is that you are forced to use your items, since you will be taking more damage, so no hoarding 99 potions anymore and not be able to use them on Hard Mode.

Installation instructions

Just place the file in FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\End\Content\Paks\~mods

Main features

- Normal Attacks cost 1 ATB

0. 2:

- Removed Delay from all spells so their effects are instantly felt, which means Blizzard and Aero don't suck anymore

- Removed the attack from turning off Punisher mode, since I couldn't make that one cost ATB for some reason.

0. 9:

- Made the AI not attack anymore, so they don't spend their ATB without your permission

- Made enemies spells work the same as player spells for fairness stake and because in a turn based context it makes no sense to be able to defend a Blizzard spell and roll out of the damage

- Tried making Yuffie playable in Turn Based.

-  Removed text that refers spending 2 ATB bars when it actually just uses more MP to compensate.

- Returned Command Menu slowdown to default since you don't need to race your party members anymore

Optional features

With the additional  Turn Based Mod Swap V1 file, you can have the game automatically changing to the next character when it is their turn. You need to install Native Mod Loader for this to work. After installing Native Mod Loader, simply drop the DLL file you prefer in the NativeMods folder.

Incompatibilities

Don't work with other mods that change battle parameters.
