Restricted Magic

All characters learn magic as they level up instead of via espers/items. Magic is still locked for everyone besides Terra/Celes until the first magicite are obtained. Spellsets were created based on initial magic stats, "lorefriendlyness," and how useful the character is without magic, with a focus on making the game more challenging. This mod can be easily changed to suit your taste, see the readme included in the download.

The "Double Ragnarok" portion of the Minor FF6 Tweaks mod is recommended for the "Original" & "No Esper Bonuses" versions of this mod since the Ragnarok magicite isn't worth taking over the sword with no Ultima to learn from it, this will let you have both. "Balanced Esper Bonuses" makes the esper a little more desirable, but you may still want it for that version as well.

Install with just Magicite for the "Original" version or with both Magicite AND Memoria for either the "No Esper Bonuses" or "Balanced Esper Bonuses" versions.
