The Perfect Gift
Mod Status: The mod has been updated for the new engine. It requires MOMI 0. 15. 7 or newer.A MMAPI mod for Fields of Mistria that automatically updates gift preferences in your journal based on character's dialogue.
Configuration File
A configuration file has been added for this mod that provides options for the following:
1. Allow gift preferences to be unlocked. (defaults to true).
2. Automatically unlock all gift preferences, overriding the allow option. (defaults to false).
3. Display which NPCs like/love an item on the item's tooltip description (defaults to true).
4. Allow tooltips to show gift preferences that aren't known (defaults to true).
4. Remove the daily talk limit (defaults to false).
5. Remove the daily gift limit (defaults to false).
6. Allow gift preference detection notifications (defaults to true).
7. Allow gift preference unlock notifications (defaults to true).
8. Allow gift preferences to be learned from quest rewards (defaults to true).
9. Allow gift preferences to be learned from mailed recipes (defaults to true).
The configuration file will NOT exist until you load a save file at least once. Therefore, if you wish to configure the mod, start the game and load a save file, then EXIT the game, and lastly edit the configuration file before restarting the game.
In order to customize the mod, you must modify the properties in its configuration file. This file is located in the folder below, where username is your username:

You can change each values and set them to either true or false to enable and disable each option.
If you had set the older learn_from_gift_rewards option from a previous version, its value automatically carries over to both new options the next time you load a save.
Feedback Request: Missing Gifts
I did my best to try and identify all dialogue that mentions character's preferred gifts. However, if you notice the mod DOESN'T "detect" a gift preference mentioned in a specific dialogue line, please let me know in a bug report and I'll update the mod.
For Mod Authors
This mod is capable of detecting gift preferences in your custom dialogue. In order for your mod to be detected, you MUST use the following template when defining your conversation "key" that is placed in the localization file.
Conversations/Mods/<mod_name>/gift_hint_#/<npc_name>/<item_name>/<conversation_name>
This key is what the game uses to "look up" the actual line of dialogue and is ultimately how this mod works. For example, let's say we're making a mod that adds the following custom dialogue in the localization file:
"Conversations/Mods/Example Mod/gift_hint_1/Adeline/coffee/adeline_loves_coffee": "I absolutely love =coffee=!"
By using this template, this will automatically detect it's a gift hint for Adeline about coffee. If you need to specify multiple hints for a single line of dialogue, you can chain the hint portion like in the example below:
"Conversations/Mods/Example Mod/gift_hint_1/Adeline/coffee/gift_hint_2/Hayden/coffee/adeline_hayden_coffee_chat": "I'm so glad Hayden appreciates =coffee= as much as I do!"
Keep in mind the following when using this template:
1. The Conversations/Mods prefix is necessary and serves as an easy way for the mod to know the conversation key is modded content.
