Sav's March Mod

Description

Modification and net-new additions to March's heart events with intention to expand to other events and dialog in the future. Gives March a more distinct motivation for being cold initially. Adds branched cutscene behavior depending on the responses given.

The mod implementation is additive and suppresses the vanilla heart events, letters, quests. It introduces new state for tracking heart event progress. What this means is that if you already completed the vanilla quest for that heart level you will still get the new one at that equivalent level. This also means if you uninstall the mod you will likely see the vanilla events show up for the ones that were skipped.

Takes a soft dependency on Sav's More March Portraits which add a broader range of expressions, falling back on vanilla portraits if that mod is not also installed.

  Installation instructions

  This mod was developed to be installed via MOMI.

  • [] Install a recent, stable version of MOMI from Nexus[/]

    []After downloading, unzip it into your mods folder. On Windows this should be at:

    ProgramFile (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Fields of Mistria > mods(if the folder doesn't exist, create it manually or follow the MOMI instructions to create it).[/]

    []Uninstall & reinstall all your mods.[/]

    []Launch the game.[/]

  Save File Implications

  This mod works best when starting from a new save where you have not seen any of March's vanilla Heart Events. The way the mod works is that events are effectively forked from the vanilla ones. So for example, even if you have seen through the 6-heart vanilla events and then install the mod you will start seeing events starting with the 1-heart one. This registers new letters, quests, and cutscenes. It also suppresses the triggers for the vanilla events. Which means on uninstall you may see those suppressed vanilla events pop up. The mod also persists custom state to the save file to track how March should react in subsequent events or follow-up dialog.
