Trojan War (Homeric Greece)

Description A custom Trojan War scenario inspired by Homer’s Iliad and other myths of the Epic Cycle. The map brings together the Achaean kingdoms, Troy and its allies, iconic heroes, legendary families, regional cults, and historically inspired geography for a mythological-strategic experience. Key features - Start date: 1187 BC, three years before the traditional fall of Troy in 1184 BC according to Eratosthenes. - Iconic heroes from the Iliad and related myths included as members of their proper ruling families. - Detailed Achaean, Trojan, Anatolian, Thracian, and Dorian factions. - Regional differences in geography, culture, and Olympian cults. - Ancient geography taken into account, including Lake Kopais in Boeotia and the ancient bay near Troy. - Additional minor fictional nations added where needed to make the map more complete and playable. Update, 11. 06 - Expanded map detail: 199 -> 276 provinces, with most new provinces added in Greece. - More archaic city names using Ancient Greek transliteration, giving the map a stronger Bronze Age Greek aesthetic. Note This scenario is not a fully literal reconstruction of the Iliad. Since the myths leave many gaps and sometimes contradict each other, the map also uses later traditions and related Trojan War legends to create a richer and more complete setting.
