Taking into consideration feedback on the effects of the guide on the player, both versions use the same scripting and such, but bestow different effects upon the player. In a nut shell, the generalized version adds to one SPECIAL stat and all skills by a minor amount, whereas the specialized version focuses on one or two in particular to enhance by a greater amount.
