The Thunder Dome

The Thunder Dome.

I've often figured that with a little modification, this 'natural' feature of the Capital Wasteland could become a sort of arena or amphitheater that NPCs or animals could battle it out in. Sort of like the Thunder Dome from the Mad Max 3 movie, Beyond The Thunder Dome. I've mucked around with it, and I have to say the result isn't really what I wanted, but is okay. I may re-visit this again later. Ideally I'd like to add a feature to make NPCs and animals appear and battle away with each other.

So for now, the Thunder, err, Hole?

I envisaged this as a pit where the Regulators or other Wasteland police force sent people to fight it out. Sort of like The Hunger Games or Survivor. There's three refuges people can get into, the first is big, has plenty of resources like food, water, cook place, beds and protection from thrown objects and rain. The second is smaller, with just some beds and water as well as minimal protection. The third is just a platform with a mattress. Of course though it was a pure bastard navmeshing it so I gave up and hence NPCs can't access those refuges.

Still it is fun quick travelling in, watching a battle and then doing it all over again with a saved game.
