📋 About This Mod
Adds some scraggly needles to wasteland trees. Optional glow.
I never liked the look of the large trees in Fallout 3 -- they're supposed to be long dead, so why do they still have all those tiny branches on them? They look like their leaves fell off six months ago.
So I made them not-quite-dead instead. The game files call them "hardwoods", but leaves didn't look right with the way the branches stick out on the 3D model, so I used needles instead. I like to imagine it's some weird nuclear hybrid tree adapted to the wasteland!
Scrappy Trees changes exactly one texture (treehardwooddetail01.dds), so it should be compatible with anything that doesn't affect this texture. Also works with Tale of Two Wastelands (TTW). New LODs aren't needed, the needles blend in at a distance.
Glowy Scrappy Trees also adds a subtle radioactive glow to the needles (you'll probably only notice it at night). This version also modifies the tree model (treewastelandhardwood01.nif) to enable the glow.
Red Weed Evergreens gives the previously bare fir-looking trees strange fibrous red needles. Replaces TreeEvergreenDetail01.dds texture.
