📋 About This Mod

Pick up your step when hiking across the Wasteland and move with more circumspection indoors. Requires FOSE

Author: Questdog Version: 1. 1 Date: 12/29/2014 Category: Gameplay Effects and Changes

Version 1. 1 fixes an incompatibility with the Triage mod (included in FWE).

Description --------------- Requires FOSE

This mod will cause characters to walk faster while outdoors or in combat.

Detail --------- Purposeful Walking will cause the Lone Wanderer to set his stride as if he had somewhere to go when hiking across the Wastelands instead of puttering along whilst staring at his feet. Indoors, he will revert to his slower stride unless he gets in a fight.

Sneaking and running speeds should be the same inside or out using this mod (or very close) and just a tick faster than vanilla.

I made this mod because I never fast travel and got tired of the Lone Wanderer hiking like he was walking through Jell-O. Other mods I found to speed up the walking made the change constant, which made it sometimes difficult to navigate in close quarters inside without causing an NPC to rage about something getting bumped (plus it just seemed inappropriate to move so fast inside).

Known issues and bugs ------------------------ No bugs. It will take a couple of seconds for the Lone Wanderer to change his stride after walking through a door. The only way to avoid this would be to make this script run with less than the default delay and that might put undue stress on the system.

The .esp was checked in FO3Edit to ensure that the GECK did not commit any silliness.

I tried hard to make this mod without FOSE, but found the available script commands wanting.

Incompatibilities -------------------- This mod should be compatible with any mod, except ones that do something similar.

Change Log -------------- 1. 1 - Fixed an incompatibility with the Triage mod.

Manual Installation ---------------------- Unzip the .esp provided into the Data folder of your Fallout 3 installation. Activate it by selecting it in the Launcher.

Manual Uninstallation ------------------------ Move or delete the .esp from the Data folder of your Fallout 3 installation.

Mod Dependencies -------------------- This mod only requires the Fallout3.esm, but will work fine with any or all DLC.

This mod can safely be placed anywhere in the Load Order. It only adds one tiny script and will not overwrite any other mod's changes.
