Description =========== UPDATE: I have created a second version to try. Check below for info! I have always been very annoyed by how shiny and weird the balloons look in this game. I don\'t know why such a random, odd thing would bug me so much, but it does, so I fixed it! I made a very simple adjustments in GIMP to make the balloons a lot less shiny. They still look shiny and, in my opinion, realistic, but now they are not all OMG IN YOUR FACE SHINE terribleness. There are TWO versions. You only need to choose one! V1: My first attempt. I simply opened the vanilla normal map in GIMP, removed the existing alpha layer, and added a new one that produces a much less shiny effect. Because the balloons share the same diffuse texture and normal map as the Happy Birthday! sign, the sign became more flat-looking, and I do not know how to easily change that. If this bothers you, try V2. V2: This time, I opened the diffuse texture in GIMP and used the normal map filter to create a new normal map from scratch. In this version, the sign looks less flat, and the balloons look only slightly different. Just pick whichever you think looks better! This mod was FINALLY created after seeing the fantastic-looking Silent Hill - The Curse mod. Nothing had motivated me enough to actually bother doing it even though I\'d wanted to do it for some time, until this! If you check it out and look at the screenshots, you\'ll see a creepy scene with b-day balloons. You can also see how shiny they are in the dark! My mod seems to go well with that mod! :) Recommended: Try F3R - Fallout 3 Retextured, which includes a new diffuse map for the balloons/sign that the v2 normal map is based on. Install ======= Use a mod manager for easy installation and uninstallation. If you wish to install manually, simple drag the contents of this archive to your Data folder, keeping the file structure as below: Data\\textures\\clutter\\bdayclutter\\balloons01_n.dds Uninstall ========= To manually uninstall, simple remove the file from the folder as listed above.
