Clipboard Hacking (requires FOSE) by SteamNexus I always thought the terminals were one of the worst parts of the game until I encountered \"Hacking terminals is easier\" by Hereticus. However I always thought that made things TOO easy because there was no cost. Another mod \"Menu Based Hacking and Picking BETA\" by angleae was headed in the right direction, but too many locked out terminals were still possible. Terminals, unlike lockboxs, may contain interesting stories that helped to understand the Fallout 3 game world, and were thus more critical to get into. And by level 18 I probably would have forgotten where some of those locked terminals were. And of course there is save and reload but that should be left as a failsafe against game crashes, not terminal password guessing. With a couple of pencils, a clipboard and the appropriate mod you can \"calculate and decifer\" what the password is and have an easier and more fun time with the terminals. What this mod does To use just select a pencil (you must have two or more in your inventory and a clipboard) and a menu choice will be to either drop the pencil normally or hack out a password. You still need high enough science to access the terminal. The \"hacking concentration effect\" lasts 30 seconds, during that time reduced wordcount will be present on the terminal. However, there is a chance your pencil will break and your clipboard will run out of paper, so don\'t neglect to loot those OfficeWhatever stores on your travels. If you do select the Computer Whiz perk, there is no longer a chance of your pencil or clipboard failing on you. A pencil or clipboard failure means the inital 30 second effect is still active, but you may have to replace them for a later hack. If you choose to hack the terminals the normal way, you can do so as well by either not engaging the pencil, and just activate the terminal. To get you started, two pencils and one clipboard will be added to your inventory upon game load (in case you shot all previous stock out of your RockIt Launcher). ESP\'s included (choose ONLY one) ClipBoard Hacking.esp : 4 words (you only get 4 chances anyway, can still play the wordgame). ClipBoard Hacking_LowXP : 4 words (25% less XP, for those who plan NEVER to use the unmodified wordgame). ClipBoard Hacking_Scholar : 5 words, 4 guesses to get it right. ClipBoard Hacking_MasterMind : Terminals will show 5-8 words instead 5-20 in Vanilla. Clipboard Hacking_BadPencil : 4 words, 25% less XP, and a higher chance your pencil will break or clipboard will run out pf paper. If you cannot choose which esp and you want to play RAW, I suggest : --ClipBoard Hacking_BadPencil.esp, 1st choice. --ClipBoard Hacking_lowXP is a second if you think finding buying pencils / clipboards often may be a problem. 4 word choices should be enough if you want to think on the wordgame, else you can click thru and not have to reload.
