📋 About This Mod
I previously made a mod that amplified the sound effects because I got tired of the sound when Rooting for weapons while playing.
I uploaded it here.
This time I replaced those sounds with some vanilla reload sounds.
These sounds are also appropriated for the sounds of acquiring and equipping mines. This is a vanilla specification.
It may sound unrealistic, but it works just fine for me and makes strolling and collecting much fresher. I decided to share this as well in case anyone else feels the same way.
It randomly plays selected sounds of multiple weapon types suitable for alternatives such as combat rifles and shotguns. I tried one with the same sounds, but it was as boring as the vanilla one, so I eliminated it.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny download and install footprint—just drop in and go.
- Community-approved with 78 endorsements and 7,881 downloads.
- Does exactly what it says: changes weapon grab/switch sounds without touching other audio.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects two specific sounds—if you wanted broader audio overhauls, this won't cover them.
- No compatibility notes provided, so it might conflict with other sound mods that touch the same files.
- Last updated in early 2024—if the game has had audio updates since, it could be outdated.
For players who are tired of the default weapon grab/switch sound and want a quick, no-fuss audio swap. It's perfect for modders who want a subtle change without overhauling the whole soundscape. Skip if you're looking for a comprehensive audio mod or if you're on a version of the game that's changed audio files recently.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager, you can preview the sound files before installing to make sure you like them.
- Check if your game version has had any recent audio updates—if so, the mod might need a patch.
- Since it's a sound replacer, make sure you don't have other mods that modify the same weapon sound files, or they'll conflict.
