COMING SOON - OG & NG SUPPORT!
1. 3. 2 Released see changelog - I do my best to fix any and all bugs, crashes and anomalies. Please post any bugs or issues in the bugs section and if reporting a crash please provide a crash log.
Fallout 4’s vanilla first person shows a pair of floating arms. This mod replaces that with a True First Person perspective where your player character’s full body is rendered and visible in first person. Look down and you’ll see your body, legs, clothing and equipped gear as part of the same character you see in third person.
Your perspective also stays in first person during interactions that would normally force the camera out, such as workstations, power armor, etc. Third person is unaffected.
F4SE plugin. Built from the ground up for Fallout 4. Not a port or reskin of anything else. No ESP, no plugin slot, no scripts, no save bloat. Safe to add or remove at any time.
WHAT IT DOES-
FULL BODY IN FIRST PERSON - Your player character’s full body is visible while playing in first person. Look down to see your body, legs, clothing and equipped gear instead of Fallout 4’s vanilla floating-arms view.
STAYS FIRST PERSON EVERYWHERE - As an additional part of the first-person system, the camera also stays in first person during chairs and furniture, crafting workstations, power armor entry and exit, bleedout, death other forced third person interactions. The game never forces you into a third-person perspective and each with its own togglable option.
THIRD PERSON IS VANILLA - the POV button works exactly as it always has. Switch to third person and the mod steps aside completely; switch back and your full body is visible again.
CONFIGURATION
With Mod Configuration Menu installed, every setting is in the menu under True First Person. A change made during a use (sitting, a workbench) applies when the use ends. Without it, settings live in Data/F4SE/Plugins/TrueFirstPerson.ini, and each one has a comment above it.
Player height — how tall your character stands, 0. 5 to 2. 0 (1. 0 is the default).
Show workstation body — whether your body and its animations show at a workstation.
Show workshop body — whether your body shows in the workshop build view.
Idle camera — whether the camera drifts around you when you stand still, as the base game does.
Disable first person — one setting each; turn one on and that situation plays exactly as it would without the mod. All off by default.
- Sitting — chairs, benches, beds and other furniture
- Power armor — climbing in and out
- Death — the game's own death camera instead of staying on the head
- Weapons bench
- Armor bench
- Power armor station
- Chemistry station
- Cooking station
- Robot workbench
- Other stations — anything else the game counts as a workstation
- Water pump
- Paired attacks — enemy grabs and kill moves, on you or by you
- Paired interactions — friendly paired animations, such as petting Dogmeat
Workstations added by other mods follow the kind the game gives them.
Hide — all off by default.
- Hide power armor chest — the chest piece hidden from the camera, its shadow kept. For suits whose chest rises into the view.
- Hide power armor body — the whole suit hidden in first person, shadow included.
- Hide body — no body and no shadow in first person, out of power armor: the game's own first-person view, with the rest of the mod unchanged.
Detailed log — for bug reports, add these two lines to Data/F4SE/Plugins/TrueFirstPerson.ini (with Mod Configuration Menu, restart the game after adding them):
