Survival Mode Overhaul

10+ years and no one's overhauled Survival Mode. Let's fix that, shall we?

Welcome to Survival Mode Overhaul. This mod aims to change and revamp most of Bethesda's original Survival Mode, while also adding additional handy functionality, such as UI display changes.

REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Requirements:

F4SE (Mandatory: OG is 0. 6. 23, NG is 0. 7. 2, and AE is latest version)

Optional Requirements:

PipboyTabs: OG (Nexus), NG (Nexus), AE (Neanka's Discord - Beta Files channel)

Mod Configuration Menu: OG, NG, AE

Without PipboyTabs, you will be unable to see the custom tabs for Needs and Diseases. However, you will still see all effects in Active Effects, so its perfectly playable.

I highly recommend using PipboyTabs if you can though. If for some reason the AE version breaks due to game updates: you can use Simple Downgrader, install OG version of F4SE plugins, and optionally use RootBuilder to switch between AE and OG if needed, such as for purchasing Creations.

INSTALLATION

You have 3 options:

1. You can load a save with Survival Mode not enabled, and you can install this mod and load your save. And then change the difficulty to Survival difficulty.

2. You can start a new game with Survival Mode difficulty enabled. This mod can be installed prior to the new game.

3. If you are already in Survival Mode in your save, do not install this mod yet. Install and use Unlimited Survival Mode and turn off Survival Mode. Then you can install this mod, and then enable Survival Mode. You do not have to keep Unlimited Survival Mode installed after this point.

NEEDS OVERHAUL

Hunger and Thirst are influenced by perk (Lead Belly), Endurance, weight, value, and skill (if a skill system is installed). There are many MCM options to balance these, or even negate a factor entirely from the equation.

There is now a Well Fed and Well Hydrated bonus which can be achieved by overfilling your needs. These buffs are temporary (roughly 2 hours), but significantly boost your resistance to Diseases. It's best to maintain these buffs when you can, but it will consume your resources more rapidly to do so. When these bonuses wear off, you'll need to fully "overcharge" the Hunger or Thirst meter to reach it again.

You can see the actual level of Hunger, Thirst, and Sleep in the NEEDS tab if PipboyTabs is installed. This NEEDS tab also displays the current effect you're under.

Additional Hunger and Thirst status states have been added so that status intervals are equal, similar to Fallout: New Vegas's Needs system.
