MadMax's713's Super Mutant Redux is an incredible mod, that massively improves supermutants in the vanilla game, however it requires AWKCR, and includes a few things that for me, are immersion breaking.
The core idea of this fork is to simplify the mod, and bring it more in line with Vanilla (instead of AWKCR), in terms of balance, asthetics, and style.
-Removes AWKCR Dependency
-Removes mutant triggermen
-Reworks mutant item naming
-Removes pretty much all the extra misc and junk items, including FEV syringes, new food items, etc
-Removes meme and immersion breaking clothing and weapons
-Reverts mutant armor back to unplayable (the vanilla playable ones you can find in the world for strong are still there)
-Reverts mutant scaling to vanilla (SMR mutants all can scale infinitely)
-Minor nerf to mutants
-Cleans up and removes unnessary levelled lists
-Removes all ingestibles, junk, and pointless items
Balance Changes
- The SM Swords, Wrench, and Hydrant Cudgel (aka, all teh masive oversized weapons) can no longer be equipped by the player unless they're in Power Armor. Credit to SomberX for the script.
4estGimp also has an awkcr-free version of SMR. The primary difference between mine and that his version removes the AWKCR dependency, and doesn't do much more, so, if all you want is the full SMR experience without AWKCR, grab his. If you want SMR fully reduxed and pretty heavily streamlined so that it feels more like the vanilla game, or if you want a version compatible with Lunar Fallout Overhaul, you want this one.
