📋 About This Mod
STAR TREK ORIGINAL SERIES PHASER
Finally ported over from my New Vegas mod, this brings the classic hand phaser seen throughout most of the original 1960's Stark Trek TV series. While it doesn't really look terribly threatening, this little retro pistol can nonetheless pack quite a punch and make your foes wish they hadn't started laughing, then they might still have their limbs attached. As always, the mod comes with custom meshes and textures, as well as custom muzzle flashes and sound!
The phaser uses its own ammo, power packs, which behave like fusion cores. However, they have a larger pool than the cores, meaning just one can last you a good while. More can be crafted at a Chem Lab, under Utility, and require Science 3 to do so. The phaser has a pool of 150 "shots", so you can sustain a blast on a foe for a fairly decent amount of time. Because the phaser is really mostly made of plastic with some metal bits, it's VERY lightweight, meaning you can sight it quite quickly. The phaser also has 3 settings. By default, it's set to Kill, meaning it'll do a decent amount of damage, but not a super-lot. Taking it to a weapon workbench, you can mod it to either Stun or Vaporize.
Stun is distinguished by a green beam and has a high chance to paralyze your target for 10 seconds, long enough for you to switch weapons and blow their face off. The trade-off, however, is that Stun deals about as much damage as flicking someone's ear, so you'd better hope you target isn't immune.
Vaporize is distinguished by a blue beam and is the most damaging of the settings, doing double that of the Kill setting and has a chance to reduce the target to ash. On top of this, it ignores 35% of your target's damage resistance, meaning they'd better HOPE you miss when that blue beam comes their way.
The phaser also has a material swap mod, changing it from the standard blue and brown color scheme to a black and white one. It doesn't affect anything damage-wise on the phaser, it just looks pretty.
The phaser, like most of my other energy weapons, can be found in the Hubris Comics building, and is located in the locked storeroom near the front desk.
=========== Known Issues ===========
The phaser has a bit of recoil, which isn't ideal, but there doesn't seem to be much I can do about it.
========= Installation =========
